I have recently come across an amazing FREE icon set courtesy of Min Tran. The set is titled “Milky” and there are currently eight parts available. About twice a month, she releases a new set.
They all reflect the high quality of istockphoto icons, yet they are 100% free. As a designer, the growing icon trend becomes difficult to keep up with and creating detailed icons from scratch can be a laborious process.

I have created a set of Adobe Creative Suite icons in Illustrator for anyone to use. They are great to put on your website, to show the programs you used when designing.
Personally, I am using them to make buttons and t-shirts to show off my nerdy side. I figured since I went to the trouble to create them, I could share them with everyone. And if you want to buy a set of 1″ buttons for $5, email me.

As a Graphic Designer, it is essential to have a large list of fonts at your disposal. So I am always on the lookout for new and interesting ones.
I just recently stumbled upon another blog promoting this free font called Earthwards, and I absolutely love it, so I wanted to share it with you. It is apparently still in Beta, so it hasn’t be perfected yet. But it’s working great for me so far.

I came across a fantastic website yesterday called Scarygirl by an illustrator named Nathan. He publishes a comic strip and has toys for sale of all his characters. His style is very similar to The Nightmare Before Christmas. Which I love.
The website is really tiny, and difficult to see the details of the characters. But nonetheless, I highly recommend checking it out.

I am really excited because today I came across this fantastic FREE download of Web 2.0 gradients for Photoshop. As a web designer, these are a huge time saver and very useful.

Since college, one of my favorite artists has been a man named Brom. His dark, and sometimes disturbing imagery is not for everyone. Personally, I am a huge fan of Tim Burton movies, so that may explain why I am drawn to such a style. Nonetheless, Brom is a fantastic illustrator and his work can be seen in more places that you may have realized.
Below are a few of my favorite pieces.

I found the coolest mirror the other day online. It has a etched mustache, and I am wanting one soooo much. I just want to tell everyone how cool this thing is.
The same site also has some really neat artsy accessories and clothing. My favorite is these recycled pop-can bracelets, that are severely over-priced, yet fantastic. From the looks of it, you can even choose what label you want.

There are many successful logos out there. Recently while creating a logo for a client I was doing some research, and started to take notice of the most common properties of a successful logo. In my opinion a Logotype is the most common in regards to the most recognized logos in the world.
In basic design, there are 3 types of logos. Symbol, Logotype and Combination.
